Eritrean scouts came to the village just as the women were preparing food to take to their hiding place, where the men took the cattle already. The soldiers accused them of supporting Tigray forces and executed them, including the children and a baby. Only 2 children survived and were taken later on foot to a hospital in Mekele, about 90km further, by their relatives after they returned from hiding. Victims reported this inciden.
